Pear and cranberry crisp

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 Rocha pears, peeled and diced
  • 2 Bartlett pears, peeled and diced
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) dried cranberries
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) orange juice
  • 1 ml (1/4 tsp.) cinnamon
  • 1 ml (1/4 tsp.) ginger
  • 1 ml (1/4 tsp.) ground cloves
  • 250 ml (1 cup) rolled oats
  • 175 ml (3/4 cup) whole wheat flour
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) brown sugar
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) butter

PREPARATION

  • Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  • Combine pears and dried cranberries with orange juice and spices.
  • Place in a lightly greased baking dish.
  • In a bowl, combine remaining ingredients, except butter.
  • Cream butter and mix with dry ingredients.
  • Spread this mixture over the fruit.
  • 1 ml (1/4 tsp.) ground cloves
  • Bake about 30 minutes.
  • Serve warm with pear slice garnishes.
